MARVEL Studios has debuted the first trailer for Black Panther, giving fans a glimpse of the fictional African nation of Wakanda.
Slated for release in February 2018, Black Panther is directed by Ryan Coogler and follows the superhero introduced in 2016's Captain America: Civil War.
Chadwick Boseman plays T'Challa/Black Panther, a ruler of Wakanda, while Michael B Jordan (Creed) plays the villainous Eric Killmonger.
Lupita Nyong'o stars as Nakia, one of Wakanda's elite female bodyguards, while Andy Serkis reprises his role from Avengers: Age of Ultron as Ulysses Klaue.
Forest Whitaker, Angela Bassett and Get Out's Daniel Kaluuya also star.
The trailer has received positive reactions from fans, who praised the lush futurism of Wakanda and the country's female warriors.

THE Gold Coast climbs aboard the superhero juggernaut that is Thor: Ragnarok tonight when Robina Town Centre hosts the film's Australian premiere.
VIPS, special guests and a cast and crew of thousands will converge on the red carpet at Event Cinemas hoping to catch a glimpse - and a selfie - with the film's star, Chris Hemsworth, and director Taika Waititi.
Tonight's screening comes hot on the heels of Thor: Ragnarok's world premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday, with fans able to watch VIPs and celebs hit the red carpet from 5.30pm before the film screens from 6.30pm.
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate, one of the VIPS attending tonight's premiere, said word of mouth from stars such as Hemsworth and co-star Mark Ruffalo and Aquaman's Amber Heard and Jason Momoa had helped boost our film industry's reputation.
"They go out dining, they are left alone and they actually enjoy their life experience. They go back and say the Gold Coast is a great place to film.
"Everyone wants to film here. I say to them they are all welcome, just don't bring your dogs," he said.
Cr Tate said studios could get permission to film quickly.
"We work in conjunction with Screen Queensland very well and we have officers scouting major film who are looking for good locations and the like," he said.
Village Roadshow's Sound Stage 9, the big drawcard for bringing Thor: Ragnarok to the city, is about to be shut down and converted into indoor squash courts for next year's Commonwealth Games.
Cr Tate said this had stalled the film industry a little.
"So when you take away the super sound stage, you know, people they need that kind of level," he said.
"Post the Commonwealth Games I think you will see some feature films being filmed here in the city."
Event Cinemas Robina hosts the Thor: Ragnarok premiere tonight, with red carpet arrivals from 6.30pm.
His cameos have also become a staple of Marvel's blockbuster movies, and recently he was immortalised in animated form for the family adventure Big Hero 6.
The 94-year-old last visited Australia three years ago, appearing as a guest at Supanova in Sydney in what was believed to be his final trip down under.
Lee will appear during all three days at Supanova's Brisbane convention, running from November 10 to 12, when he will sign autographs, pose for studio portraits and talk to fans in Q&A style panels.
HIS superheroes have injected millions into Queensland's film industry, and now Stan Lee is heading to the Sunshine State.
The comic book writer, film producer and publisher, known simply as 'The Man', will meet and greet fans at all three days of the Supanova Pop Culture Expo in Brisbane in November.
Lee is famously attributed for co-creating some of the comic book world's best-known superheroes currently gracing the big and small screens, such as Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Daredevil, Thor and the X-Men

About Carange
Homicidal maniac, Cletus Kasady was serving out his life sentence in prison when a new cellmate moved in, Eddie Brock aka Venom. In the midst of a jailbreak, the Venom symbiote spawned an offspring that bonded to Cletus, creating a symbiote that was stronger and deadlier than either Spider-Man or Venom. Known for cutting brutal and bloody swaths throughout the country he has more than earned the name: Carnage!
Inverted by the events of Axis, Carnage appears to be acting heroic...kind of. Still prone to his violent tendencies, Carnage now fights on the side of the heroes, hacking up any bad guys who cross his path.
